Ingredients
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 onion, finely chopped
1 lb. lean ground beef
4 tbsp iSpice WellnessTM Meat Sauce Seasoning*
1 carrot, peeled & finely chopped
2 stalks celery, finely chopped
1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
1 (28 oz) can whole tomatoes
1 (16 oz) can tomato puree
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1/2 cup red wine
fresh basil, roughly chopped
freshly grated parmesan cheese
Directions
Step 1: Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a large pan. Brown beef with onions, carrots, celery, peppers and iSpice WellnessTM Meat Sauce Seasoning.*
Step 2: Stir in the tomato paste and cook until just starting to brown. Pour the wine into beef and reduce until the pan is almost dry.
Step 3: Transfer the beef to a slow cooker.
Step 4: Add tomatoes to slow cooker, smashing them with the back of a wooden spoon to break them up. Pour in the tomato puree. Mix well.
Step 5: Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
Step 6: Serve over spaghetti with fresh basil and parmesan cheese.
