Brownies

Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray.

Step 2

Melt 1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter in a medium-sized saucepan over low heat.

Step 3

Add 2 1/4 cups of granulated sugar to the melted butter and stir until the sugar is dissolved.

Step 4

Add 4 large eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition.

Step 5

Add 1 1/4 cups of cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the mixture, stirring until everything is well combined.

Step 6

Add 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour to the mixture and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.

Step 7

Fold in 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips.

Step 8

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Step 9

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 10

Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
