Asado (Argentine BBQ)

Asado (Argentine BBQ)

Ingredients:

  • Various cuts of beef (ribs, flank, sirloin)
  • Pork sausages
  • Salt
  • Chimichurri sauce (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Grill: Light up charcoal in your grill and let it burn until it reaches a medium heat. The coals should be covered with white ash.
  2. Season the Meat: Generously salt the beef cuts. Let them come to room temperature before grilling.
  3. Grill the Meat: Place the beef on the grill. Cook the meat on each side according to thickness and desired doneness. Typically, ribs may take longer, around 20-30 minutes per side, while thinner cuts may only need a few minutes.
  4. Add Sausages: Halfway through cooking the beef, add the sausages to the grill. Turn them occasionally until evenly browned and cooked through.
  5. Rest the Meat: Once all the meat is cooked, let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.
  6. Serve: Slice the meats and serve with chimichurri sauce on the side.

Enjoy your meal with a typical Argentine flair by accompanying your asado with a simple salad, crusty bread, and a glass of robust red wine.
