Philly Cheesesteak

Philly Cheesesteak

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. thinly sliced beef sirloin or ribeye
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 8 slices of American or Provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and sliced onions and cook until soft and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes. Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside.

Step 2

In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced beef and season with salt and black pepper. Cook until browned and fully cooked, stirring occasionally, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Step 4

Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise, but not all the way through. Place them on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes or until lightly toasted.

Step 5

To assemble the sandwich, place a slice of cheese on the bottom of each roll, add a generous portion of cooked beef, and then top with the sautéed onions. Add another slice of cheese on top.

Step 6

Place the assembled sandwiches on the baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Step 7

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious homemade Philly Cheesesteak!
