Reuben Sandwich

Reuben Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 8 slices of rye bread
  • 1/2 lb thinly sliced corned beef
  • 1/2 lb sauerkraut, drained
  • 8 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened

Directions

Step 1

Preheat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat.

Step 2

Spread a thin layer of Thousand Island dressing on one side of each slice of rye bread.

Step 3

Top 4 slices of bread with a slice of Swiss cheese, followed by a generous portion of corned beef and sauerkraut. Top each with another slice of Swiss cheese and remaining bread slices.

Step 4

Spread the softened butter on the outside of each sandwich.

Step 5

Place the sandwiches on the griddle or skillet and cook until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted, about 3-5 minutes per side.

Step 6

Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Reuben sandwich!
